Jack Frost by geekyglassesartist Jack Frost by geekyglassesartist
So I wanted to try out my BRAND NEW Wacom Bamboo tablet. First time doing so. Opened up photoshop, wanted to draw something CGI. Played around a little, and got JACK FROST. :D

By the way this was not cropped out of the original or anything. I drew this/colored this all from scratch. 4 hour process just now. Can't wait for Rise of the Guardians !

*New Update* : I just watched Rise of the Guardians on Friday the week it came out, and I gotta say IT WAS AMAZING! Animation has always been another thing I've been interested in, and the movie was crafted beautifully. Definitely recommend it!

Another side note, I'm glad to say that I was selected as one of the winner/finalists in the Rise of the Guardians Fan Art Contest on Facebook! It was such an honor, and I could not do it without the help of all the generous voters. THANK YOU!

Also, thanks to all who favorite this beforehand ! I very much appreciate it !

And for those who want to go the extra mile, please like my art page on Facebook! :D [link]

How. How was this done in four hours. I can poop out a crappy doodle on the same tablet and you've created art. Bravo.

Thank you!! It's quite a long story actually, sorry to say x) But I have been drawing traditionally, pencil and paper, for a very very long time. My parents couldn't afford to buy me a tablet. I was okay with it, so I kept on drawing with pencil. Over time, and years, my skills began to develop faster and faster and I realized I could sketch drawings under 6 hours max. That is, without getting up and out of my seat. So one day one of my best friend's friend decided to give me his tablet that he never even touched and used, and said that I could probably get more use out of it than he would. So this picture ^ was the first thing I ever drew and finished on a tablet. It's not perfect, and I'm not a true professional yet. I am still learning new things everyday however. :)

Yeah ! I definitely love it. It's like my best friend now after drawing in traditional for a very very long time. It is actully pretty easy to get the hang of, if you're the type of person who's quick on these things, it's not a problem. I totally recommend it to beginners and pros :D

It is a Bamboo Capture Pen & Touch tablet :) It's great for simple drawing uses, for me, very handy in photoshop. This one does not include an eraser end on the back of the pen, but it is still a dynamic tablet even though it's one of the basic ones. It comes with an installation CD and is pretty much just plug and use. Hope this helps !

:iconcraiplz: thank you so much! That definitely helps! But, you can still program the eraser into one of the buttons right?

I believe you possibly could. I haven't tried it out myself though yet haha. There are however two buttons on the side of the pen that sort of act like the mouse buttons so it could be possible to put an eraser option on one of them. Anyways, hope this also helps ! You're welcome :)

Haha, well luckily for me it didn't take very long to get used to since I've been practicing traditional for a long time. And I wanted a tablet so bad but my parents couldn't afford to buy one for me, until a very good friend of mine decided to give his to me for free ! since he didn't have a use for it xD I used the paint tool for this picture on a size 2px brush in photoshop. From there I drew the whole thing in black and white, saved it down to a jpeg, did another layer with color, and wallah! But yes patience is key :) Quickly and precisely is the goal!
